What do you think of when you hear the name Oscar the Grouch? Different answers will come depending on several different factors. Do you have children? If so, do your children watch Sesame Street? Are you a child yourself? How old are you? Do you watch Sesame Street or did you as a child? Depending on the answers to these questions, you may love Oscar or not like him at all.

Oscar the grouch is very appealing to children. They somehow identify him with their parents. It is funny for them to watch a fussy character in their dealings with other people. They cannot seem to get him. Children particularly like watching the little skits he does with his worm friends. In fact, many children will remind their parent or care taker that it is time for Sesame Street when the skits are continued. They just have to see the whole skit or really get upset.

Oscar does not appeal to all children though. It is apparent that you either love him or cannot stand him. Whatever your personal opinion of Oscar is, there is surely a character on Sesame Street that you will love. It is one of the most versatile of the kids programs available.

If you are so unfortunate to have never seen Sesame Street and have children, I urge you to sit down with your preschooler and watch an episode of Sesame Street and watch them fall in love with the cast. You will be amazed at how attentive your child will become watching the funny characters and their human friends.
